Rolling into Prom
Prom is an exciting and memorable time for NWCTA Juniors and Seniors, but much of the information regarding prom gets lost in translation. This year, prom is on March 29th at the Meet Las Vegas. The theme is Once Upon a Prom and starts at 7:00pm.
Abbigail Wolf, a student on junior counsel and a member of the prom planning committee, had many ideas for prom this year.
“Some scrapped ideas include movie night, bingo night, lantern decorating, as well as different raffle ideas,” she says. “These were amazing ideas but some didn't meet proper requirements or overcrowded other events and were therefore scrapped.”
Not only has Abbigail Wolf worked on planning prom themes, but an array of other things too.
“I’ve helped plan spirit week, ticket sales, royalty process, hawk rally, and prom itself to guarantee an amazing prom for the Juniors and Seniors this year. My council and advisors have also been a part of this planning process, but overall, we oversee every event and detail regarding prom, prom-related events, prom decorations, and the behind the scenes planning for it all come together,” Wolf passionately explains.
Abbigail Wolf wasn’t the only person to oversee prom. Another valuable person was Nila McCaullie.
“I actually got to help with picking out the crowns and sashes. But other than that my voice matters when it comes to making important decisions about the dance,” McCaullie says.
Prom is an important school event for Juniors and Seniors, and NWCTA can rest assured that prom planning is in trusted hands this year.
