Not a lot of people know but here at Northwest Career and Technical Academy we have a great Kindergarten program for all kinds of kids. Their classes go from 7:15 to 1:40 which is very similar to the High School time schedule.
As a part of the Teaching and Training program when you are Sophomores (and up) you get to work with the Kindergarteners and do crafts with them and other small lessons. This gets the kids very excited and gives our Teaching and Training students a time to exercise their skills.
There are lots of benefits to being a Kindergartener here at Northwest compared to a regular Public Elementary School. You would get so many special classes such as computer science, medical science, vet science, and even culinary arts.
Valaeria Cervantes is a Freshman that Attends Northwest Career and Technical Academy and is in the Teaching and Training program. This year the Freshman are learning how to lesson plan and get things ready so that next year they are prepared to work with the Kindergarteners. “Teaching and Training is a very fun program area, the skills we learn are useful and fun for us and the Kindergarteners.”
Overall, the Northwest Kindergarten Program is an amazing program for all incoming Kindergarteners that want a different experience than all others.
