NHS also known as National Honors Society is a nationwide organization that recognizes and encourages excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
NHS is important by helping students develop essential traits like responsibility, integrity, and empathy, fostering personal growth. One of the most crucial parts of running an NHS organization is an advisor. It is the foundation of the whole entire organization.
The Northwest Career and Technical National Honors Society advisor is Ms.Kauffman, also a 10th and 11th biomedical teacher. She helps to share her view on why being an advisor is fun and rewarding.
“ You’re a part of an organization that knows that students are dedicated to preserving the character, scholastics, service, and citizenship of their school and community” Ms. Kauffman,stated in a very expressive manner.
There are just as much benefits to being an NHS advisor as there is to being an NHS member. One NHS member Talia Alcantar 11th grade biomedical student, expressed her view on how NHS benefits her life.
“It's a great opportunity to get familiar with social events and service hours, with which you can develop teamwork skills, and communication skills” Alcantar expressed in a very positive expression.
There are not just individual benefits that comes with being apart of NHS. Another member of NHS Crystal Paige 11th grade Biomedical student, shares her views on how NHS benefits the society.
“It makes people feel like you have a purpose in the community” Paing mentioned in a very respectful tone.
