Teaching can be a fairly hard job for those that do not have a love for children, and not many people are as patient as teachers. When they put in nearly 30 years in one school district, it deserves to be recognized.
The Clark County School District-(CCSD), has honored roughly 100 teachers that have dedicated 29 years of service to this district. Each recipient was given a service pin along with a mug and a certificate, which is nothing compared to their years of service, but was still appreciated very much.
Of course, they have their salary which many believe is not enough for their hard work, but most teachers do that job because they want to, not because of the money. “They do work hard, but that’s for the district to decide on how much they get rewarded,” said an NWCTA freshman that asked to remain anonymous.
Anna J. Lee, director of the Academic Support and Community Service Center, has held several CCSD positions for over 40 years. The most rewarding one, she said, was being a teacher.
Because of the shortage of money in this school district, there is a need for more loyal employees. Showing appreciation to the ones with more service was a good call. A lot of the teachers take the recognition as a sign of respect and hopefully feel proud of their service as the CCSD intended then to feel.
