There’s a new club here at Northwest called “Letters Connect”. The club aims to bring back a love for writing letters as well as get people interested in craft activities. It is a place for creativity, connection, or service letters.
The club president, Sophomore Kayla San Nicalos, talks about the importance of the club and why she formed this chapter.
“I think this club could benefit the school because it opens the door to many creative opportunities such as pen pals, exploring writing styles, and more,” San Nicalos explains.
Another member of the club is sophomore Alyssa Chantapanya. She is the club’s historian, and she talked about her favorite parts of the club.
“I like how unique this club is,” Chantapanya says, “and how much potential there is to be fun and creative as well as being with the people I enjoy working with.”
San Nicalos goes on to talk more about why this club could help the school.
“Something that I love about this club is that it helps reintroduce letter writing to the community,” San Nicalos continues, “This is important especially since most forms of communication in today’s world is digital.”
The workings of the club have yet to be seen, but the board members are excited for what the club will bring.
“We put in a lot of effort to make this enjoyable, so even if a person isn’t too fond of making letters, or doesn’t know how, they will have a lot of fun just hanging out,” Chantapanya states.
