The flu season has gained extreme popularity worldwide due to some of the viral viruses going around the world. Viruses are more contagious during this region of time especially in highly public places such as schools. High schoolers are always on a tight schedule with classes, therefore certain procedures need to be set into place to maintain the perfect health of students.
A freshman Northwest CTA High School student, Diego Ramirez, has gotten the flu shot and proclaimed that despite the flu shot, he has gotten the flu. Ramirez also mentioned that not only did he get the flu but his sickness has been elevated throughout the year. His family has plans now for Ramirez to not receive the shot to see whether his health would improve over the year.
Despite that, most cases surrounding the flu shot differ extremely in results. For example, another NWCTA freshman, Ashli Pochea stated how helpful the flu shots were to not only her but also her family this year. Pochea explained that “it allowed her family to feel safer being out in public especially around the flu season”.
Pochea also mentioned how she managed to keep herself healthy throughout the year. Pochea stated, “I try to keep multiple sanitizer bottles in my backpack along with facial wipes and facial masks (especially around this flu season)”. These materials could be extremely helpful to students during this season because these procedures are also the most recommended by health officials,
Public places, such as schools, need as many safety procedures for health as possible to maintain the public well-being. Some basic procedures such as washing hands and keeping up with flu shots could be extremely helpful to all students and teachers.
Although, some kids prefer not getting the flu shots because of certain allergies that tend to appear once getting the shot; flu shots should always be discussed with family prior decision-making for the healthiest course of action for the student.
