As students come to school, they think about college and the future that’s waiting for them. Northwest is a school that has many AP classes and college-level classes to help and benefit students to prepare for college and achieve their dreams.
Eight programs are presented here at Northwest to help students achieve their dream careers. Emily Avalos, a sophomore in the biomedical program, has a thought on why college is a beneficial thing.
“I think college is very beneficial. I don't think it's for everyone, but it’s there for people who wanna go and get a career that will help them out," Avalos said. "I definitely think the AP and dual classes here really help students get prepped for college to see how the work and level of studying is needed.”
College is known to help students who wanna take a step ahead and get a good career to set their lives up. A staff member, Mrs. Chamberlain in 806, also had a thought on college being helpful.
“College is for sure a choice. It’s not for everybody, but it’s very helpful to students who wanna pursue their careers. If your career needs a college degree, you should definitely go to college, but if it’s just a normal job, college isn’t really needed, Chamberlain said. “Trade school is also a good option if your career field doesn’t require college.”
College is just a choice people make to benefit themselves in the future. It may not be for everyone but there's always other options. Freshman Gursharan Kaur, in the biomedical program, has her thoughts on college as well.
“I personally think college is a good thing, especially with the classes here. I’m a freshman, but I’ve heard here at NWCTA they have many AP and dual credit classes here that help benefit students and get a better understanding of the workload that will be presented to them” Kaur said.
College isn’t something everyone has to do, but it seems to help a lot with pursuing careers. Here at Northwest, students are ready for college by presenting classes and programs that help them understand and get an idea of what these careers hold for them.
