The school’s quince, held by the Spanish classes, was a big hit! The dresses were beautiful, the music and dances were wonderful, and many more. And putting on this performance was undertaking.
There were many preparations made for this quince to be put together. Making the decorations, practicing for the quince, and many other things to make this day perfect. But what exactly did they do?
“To prepare for the quince, we have been practicing the dances at home, coming in to set up decorations, and we have also practiced together as a class.” Kimberly Sarabia, Freshman.
The Spanish class has made its own dances and is very excited to share these dances with everyone.
Sophomore, Leslie Ramirez says, “I think that the dance I am most excited about is the Eltaotao, which was a part of our surprise dance. We have been practicing it alot, and I was really excited to see how we would all do.”
On the day of the quince, all of their preparations came to the test. Everyone gathered together in the quad, to watch all of the beautiful dancing, and listening to the wonderful music.
“I think my favorite part about the quince was probably the energy and all of the excitement from all the students,” Ramirez says.
There was a big difference from last year’s quince, during the years of COVID. There were less people watching, fewer people dancing, and different dances.
“I did notice a difference in this year’s quince. Last year, it was in the banquet hall and performed for one to two classes. Not only was the audience different, but so were some of the dances as well.” Sophomore, Hannah Biggs says.
This quince, held by Spanish, was very entertaining to watch. Many people not only find the quince entertaining, by the class as well.
“My favorite part about the class is the teacher, [Ms. Perez] because she takes her time to deal with her students, and makes it easier on us. And her class is also creative.” expresses Sarabia.
