New Orleans rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. better known as Lil Wayne, makes a hit comeback releasing a new album after two years of not releasing an album. The long awaited album is called “Funeral” and dropped on January 31. Since release day, this album opened at number one on Billboard’s top 200 to this day, making it his fifth title to reach the top.
Wayne’s new album consists of 24 tracks. It also features Big Sean, Lil Baby, O.T Genasis, Lil Twist, The Dream, 2Chainz, Takeoff, Adam Levin, Jay Rock, and it features rapper Xxxtentacion who passed away in 2018. Wayne started dropping hints about this album back in 2016 and has been working on it since then.
Funeral sold 138k copies the first week of it dropped. The album also had about 135 million streams the first week as well. A recent poll showed that the majority of people found that this album was a hit.
The poll asked if they thought the new album was a hit or a miss. The ratio of the votes differed by a lot. 80% of the people voted that the album was a hit and 20% of the people thought it was a miss.
An anonymous freshman said, “Lil Wayne never fails to make a hit album. He’s the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time).”Another anonymous freshman also mentioned how this album was better than his last one, “The Carter V” From all these news reports and feedback, it seems like Wayne made a hit comeback leaving fans to see what’s next.
