The Allure 'The Summer I Turned Pretty'

The Summer I Turned Pretty is constantly debated and discussed. Some believe Belly should be with Conrad, Jeremiah, or no one.

Many students, and even staff had an opinion about this series. One opinion is that Belly shouldn’t be with anyone at all, an opinion that Ms Leifer, a staff member from Northwest CTA has backed. 

“Neither, she needs to get her life right. She doesn’t know what she wants” Ms. Leifer voiced. “If she doesn’t know what she wants, it can mess with other people.”

Other opinions were about the difference between the books and the show. A difference was the descriptive words and scenes in the book, an opinion shared by Natalia Gardea or Lia, a Northwest CTA freshman. 

“I feel like there’s a lot of words that the books have that can’t be shown in the show” Lia Proclaimed.

One of the most popular discussions is Conrad vs Jeremiah. Jeremiah seemed to be the answer for Northwest freshman Tyler Porter. 

“He’s just super cute. And Conrad was so confusing.” Tyler stated. “and then when his mom passed away it just got worse”

The same could be said for freshman Lia. Her reasoning is very different from Tyler’s. 

“I feel like Jeremiah is more level-headed than Conrad within Belly”. Lia commented. “They kinda level each other out, while Belly and Conrad don’t match”

The question of who Belly belongs with might never be settled. As a third season approaches this summer, Belly’s narrative remains captivating for many.
