The Swedish band Ghost just finished their last leg of the Skeletour.
Ghost is a band that provides listeners with a sense of familiarity, often described as “Scooby-Doo run music” or “Dark Abba”. Fans remark on their unique style and individuality from other bands in the rock scene.
“I do because it just has that feeling that I’ve felt before with other bands like Sleep Token so it's just exciting and it isn’t basic at all.” freshman Saja Phoenix states.
Ghost changes frontmen every few years, with the power of stage makeup and prosthetics Tobias Forge, the man behind Ghost, is able to go under a new name as “Papa” and switch up his personality on stage. Ghost started out like many other bands, such as Slipknot, without members' identities being shown. Although, over the years people have discovered the members' faces. To keep the intrigue of the band though, many fans still distinctly separate each era.
“My favorite frontman is definitely Terzo, I enjoy the songs he came out with and his stage presence is entertaining.” freshman Molly Mackey remarks.
The newest singer to reign goes by the name “Papa Emeritus V” but is more commonly known as “Perpetua”. Early 2025 their newest album Skeleta released, with songs like “Satanized” releasing a few weeks early, bringing excitement and urgency to the world tour they announced a few months prior known as the “Skeletour”.
“Skeleta definitely was the album that got me really into Ghost, it has a lot of emotional themes that I relate to.” Molly states.
With this tour ending, Tobias plans to put the band on hiatus, but who knows, maybe within the next year fans will get another chance to get satanized.
