Bad Bunny's Halftime Show Sparks Debate

As the 2026 Super Bowl quickly approaches, superstar Bad Bunny, who was chosen to perform in the Halftime Show, is receiving political backlash, sparking debate over whether he was the best pick to perform on Football’s Biggest Stage. 

Some fans believe this is an amazing opportunity for the Puerto Rican community to gain more exposure and representation in the media, as seen with freshman Zarah Hernandez. 

“I am excited for Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show because it will bring more exposure to the Latin community,” Zarah Hernandez said. "I have been a fan of Bad Bunny since he was considered an underground artist. The first concert I attended was at the House of Blues; it’s crazy to see how he has come up and grown as an artist.”

Bad Bunny’s music is widely known for making people want to get up and move their feet. This is one of the main things his fans are excited and expecting to see during his halftime show performance. 

“I am expecting to see a lot of dancing during his performance,” Hernandez said. "Bad Bunny’s performance has been set at a very high standard by his fans, and they don’t believe he will disappoint."

On the other hand, many of his fans believe he was the best choice for the Halftime Show entertainment despite the current social and political tensions.

“With everything going on in the world today, I believe that Bad Bunny is the best choice for this year’s Halftime Show,” Romina Arellanos said.

Despite his success, Bad Bunny has faced backlash online, with many critics questioning his popularity and whether his music appeals to a wide enough audience. 

“I know that many people don’t like him or feel like he's a good fit for the Halftime Show, but, at the same time, I believe that he is a good artist with even better music,” Romina Arellanos said. 

Romina and many other fans believe that the criticism he has received is disappointing to see. As the Super Bowl comes closer and closer, the debates and backlash surrounding Bad Bunny’s halftime performance continue to grow, leaving his fans eager to see how he will respond on America’s Biggest Stage.
