As South CTA High School prepared for its first schoolwide field trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, freshman Andrew Ramos said he was looking forward to both the experience and the memories he hopes to make.
Ramos, 14, said he has visited several theme parks before but had never attended one as part of a school trip. He said he was most excited to experience major attractions and explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
“I’ve been waiting to go back, and I’m excited this time I get to go with my friends,” Ramos said. “I’m really excited to ride all the rides with them and vlog it all.”
Beyond the rides, Ramos said he was particularly interested in the park’s Studio Tour, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at movie and television production. He said he hoped to learn more about how special effects and film music are created, especially because he is enrolled in South CTA’s Music Technologies class, which focuses on the history and production of music.
Ramos also said the trip would give him an opportunity to develop his vlogging skills. He planned to create a mini vlog documenting his day, from the journey to the park to how he spent time while waiting in lines.
Following South CTA High School’s field trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, freshman Andrew Ramos said the experience was enjoyable and worth the anticipation.
Ramos, 14, said his favorite part of the trip was riding attractions with friends, which he noted felt different from visiting theme parks with family.
“It was way more fun going with my friends,” he said. “We were joking around the whole time and reacting together on the rides.”
Ramos also said he appreciated the park’s behind-the-scenes experiences, particularly the Studio Tour, because it related to concepts he had studied in his Music Technologies class.
“It was cool to see how movies are made and how sound and effects are added,” Ramos said. “It made me think about what we talk about in class.”
During the trip, Ramos recorded video clips for a personal vlog, documenting rides, interactions with friends and how he spent time while waiting in lines.
“It was really fun recording my whole trip, and I’m excited to edit it and look back at it in the future,” he said.
Ramos said the most meaningful part of the trip was the opportunity to spend time with friends and create lasting memories.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to go on this trip,” he said. “I would definitely want to do another one like this.”
