At South CTA, there are always ways for kids to get involved and find something that truly sets them apart. A couple of clubs getting a lot of attention this year are Key Club, Clash Club, Dungeons & Dragons Club and School Ambassadors, all of which offer enormous opportunities for networking and personal growth.
Clash Club is a fun area for players of all skill levels to meet and play games. As the name suggests, the club primarily focuses on Clash Royale, but every other week, they host a tournament where the winner receives an in-game item. Founder Trystan Avaeo explained, “The club has been going just as I thought it would. We get more and more people every week.” He founded the club because he saw that a lot of people enjoyed Clash and wanted to make a place where people could learn the game.
Moving on from video games, the Dungeons and Dragons Club provides a place for students to connect over Dungeons and Dragons. It is a board game centered around a guide who determines the players’ adventure and what they will do, rolling a die to decide their fate. Chance Moore, the president of this club, shared his story: “I joined because he had played it with his dad and wanted to find people with similar interests.” When he joined, he had little intention to be president, but his friends convinced him to run and voted him in.
One of the most prominent clubs on campus is Key Club, which members consistently praise for its many benefits. Rita Khachatryan commented, “I’m making tons of connections with people, with many volunteering opportunities, and it also looks good for college.” It’s more than just an institution for logging service hours. It represents an association that wishes to serve the community and have fun within the process.
Finally, the SCTA Ambassadors are also becoming a big thing on the campus. When asking Duaa Malthora why she joined, she replied, “I wanted to be an ambassador, it sounded different, since the school is brand new. I wanted to be something, and I think people should join the ambassadors. It's very fun.” School ambassadors play a vital role in representing our school and helping new students.
Together, these clubs not only allow students to pursue their interests but also create a strong community spirit at South CTA.
