Think a little deeper about the Pledge of Allegiance and what it means and discuss with a friend or family member. Be prepared to justify your answers.

Why do we pledge allegiance to a flag, anyway?
What do you think is the most important word in The Pledge of Allegiance?
Why was "Under God" added to the Pledge? How does "one Nation under God" make you feel while reading or saying the pledge?
Why are "the United States of America" and "the Republic" two separate things?
Do you believe we have "liberty and justice for all" in our country right now? Why or why not?
