Our Program and Mission

The Sierra Vista Band Program strives to provide an outstanding artistic and integrated technology experiences, in addition to leadership opportunities that develops each individual’s character and ability. The Program allows individuals to develop musical artistry, poise, confidence, and self-discipline. They develop an understanding and love for the art of music, the marching arts, and the process for success in every aspect of their life.

We strive to provide a tradition of excellence that prepares today’s students for the shift to tomorrow’s challenges; where the students develop into life-long learners and leaders.

The Sierra Vista Band/Colorguard Program aims to foster an environment where students are in charge of their personal growth!

Family

Members of the Vista Band program become a family, sharing in their success and supporting each other in adversity. Members look out for one another and often provide a support group like none other in school.

Teamwork

Every member of the band program is important. There is no bench. Marching band in particular requires members of different ages, backgrounds and abilities to come together and perform as one team. To be successful, every member must know their part and have trust in their teammates.

Discipline

Throughout the year, countless hours will be spent at practices and competitions, memorizing music, choreography and learning drill. Students will learn time management to balance marching band, winterguard, drumline, school, homework and other commitments, a skill that will benefit them the rest of their lives.

Friendship

Through their hard work, common goals, and shared experiences, members of the band program build strong bonds. Friendships forged in the Vista band program last throughout school and beyond. Students transitioning from middle school to high school will already have a network of friends before the first day of school.
