Welcome to the Sierra Vista High School Cross-Country web page. The 2026 Spring Track & Field season is complete, and we are gearing up for our summer intramural practices. Workouts are held at 6:00am to beat the heat. Our first two weeks of intramural workouts will be held at Mountain's Edge Regional Park (MERP). Starting in week three our location will shift to Sierra Vista High School (SV) and will also include the James Regional Sports Park (JRSP).

The practice schedule is updated, and we will have our first practice June 1, 6:00am. To access the practice schedule, click the "practice schedule" tab on the drop-down menu located at the top right of this home page. 

Please complete the athletic registration process through Aktivate as soon as possible. The website and instruction can be found on the Sierra Vista High School website under Athletics. 

Please also make sure to wear appropriate dress for running in the Vegas heat, light clothing, sun screen, hat if needed, and a pair of shoes designed for long distance running. Several shoe manufactures make great distance training shoes, and this will help you prevent injuries and developing bad running habits. Shoe brands that several of our returning runners train in include Asics, Brooks, Hoka, New Balance, Nike, and Saucony. Red Rock Running Company is a major supporter of high school cross-country and track in Nevada, and has experts in the best running shoes for training and racing. There is a store located near Sierra Vista High School on Rainbow Blvd and Warm Springs if you want to go ask questions about what shoe may be best for you. Make sure to let them know you are part of the Sierra Vista cross country program. For ALL practices you'll also want to make sure to bring plenty of water to drink throughout the workout. Lasty make sure to eat something light before you come so you'll have enough energy to perform at your best.
