No, applications are open to any incoming 9th or 10th grader in CCSD, Charter, Private, Home School or from Out of District
Lottery results will be released in Spring 2024. Parents will be notified via email of the student's status:
Selected: Student was selected for a seat at our school (Parents accept/decline seat by the deadline or forfeit the seat) Please note, program changes are not allowed after you accept a seat.
Alternate Pool: Student was not selected, but is in the alternate pool. If a seat opens, an additional lottery will run from the alternate pool to select a student. Parents will be notified via email. (There is no numbered wait list)
Not Qualified: Student did not qualify for the STEM program. See Qualifications page for more information.
We accept applications for incoming 9th and 10th graders. Incoming 11th and 12th graders are ineligible to apply.
Siblings living in the same household (must be registered at the same residence in Infinite Campus) can receive a sibling preference in the lottery. The current student must be in 9th, 10th or 11th grade. This is not a guarantee to be selected. Parents must add sibling information on the application in the appropriate section.
There is no tuition to attend SECTA. We are a CCSD public magnet high school. Individual majors do have associated fees for equipment, materials, supplies, and certifications.
