CCSD requires the first 50 sight words to be mastered by the time students enter first grade. Aggie Roberts is hopeful that students will exceed that standard and be able to read at least the first 100 sight words before entering first grade.

Sight words are meant to be read quickly. The goal is to read the word as fast as they could read their own name. Try not to pick apart letter sounds, sound-out, etc.
