What is the age eligibility for enrollment in the kindergarten program?
To enroll in Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year, children must be 5 years old on or before August 11, 2025.
What are the school hours and the duration of the kindergarten program?
For our Kindergarten students, drop-off time is from 7:00 am to 7:15 am. The school day starts at 7:15 am and ends at 1:40 pm. The front office is open from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Is there a school uniform policy for kindergarten students?
No, we do not require school uniforms. At NWCTA, we adhere to the CCSD School Attire Guidelines. Please click on the link HERE to obtain more information.
Are there opportunities for parent involvement in school activities or volunteering?
In accordance with CCSD policy, all non-CCSD employed individuals wishing to volunteer as chaperones must complete CCSD's volunteer process. This process includes a background check, fingerprinting, and obtaining an official CCSD Volunteer Badge. Please note that it may take up to 10 weeks to complete, so we encourage interested volunteers to begin early. Throughout the academic calendar, there will be numerous opportunities for parental or guardian involvement in various events. It is recommended to refer to the News & Events section of our site for updates regarding upcoming events.
Additionally, we offer the Family Collaboration Group (FCG), which welcomes all parents and guardians of NWCTA students, whether current or former. The Board comprises a few members who communicate with NWCTA administration once a month, sharing feedback, concerns, suggestions, and inquiries from the community gathering. Are there any special services or resources available for children with specific learning needs?
We work with an excellent Special Education team. Please contact our Curriculum Office for more information at 702-799-4640 ext. 4200.
What is the student-to-teacher ratio in the kindergarten classrooms?
Our Kindergarten classroom has a capacity of 22 students and is under the guidance of Ms. Tichenor. Additionally, our Teacher Education program provides student teachers who rotate to assist Ms. Tichenor. Mrs. Mattson, the Teacher Education Lead, supervises these student teachers. During centers, we assign 3-4 students to each student teacher.
Are there any school outings or field trips planned for kindergarten students?
Our Kindergarten program is excited to announce at least two planned field trips for the upcoming school year, and we warmly welcome parents and family members to join us as chaperones!

Can parents attend observation sessions or open houses to learn more about the program?
If parents or guardians wish to attend an observation session, they can schedule it with Ms. Tichenor by emailing her at tichejl@nv.ccsd.net.
We will reach out with scheduled dates for the Meet & Greet and the Open House.
Are there any language or foreign language immersion programs offered in kindergarten?
Every week, the students will participate in a Spanish class as part of their Specials program.
What technology resources and tools are used to support learning in the kindergarten program?
Each student will be provided with a Chromebook for the entire school year. They will also receive several online resources to support them in their studies.
Does CCSD provide transportation for kindergarten students at NWCTA's Kindergarten Program?
Unfortunately, CCSD does not provide transportation services for our kindergarten program. Transportation is currently only available for high school students.
