When is the 2026 New Teacher Kickoff (NTK)?
When is the 2026 New Teacher Kickoff (NTK)?
The NTK will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, and is required for all new licensed teachers hired by July 30, 2026.
All New Teachers (Pre-Kindergarten—Grade 12)
Registration and Breakfast: 8:00 a.m.—9:00 a.m.
Scheduled Program: 9:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m.

The NTK will take place at West Career and Technical Academy (West CTA), located at 11945 W. Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89135. Additional information will be emailed before the event.
Who should attend the NTK?

The NTK is required of all new licensed teachers hired by July 30, 2026, whether experienced or beginning their teaching career. Other licensed personnel new to the Clark County School District (CCSD) will attend the new-hire events with their respective departments. For additional questions regarding report times or locations, please contact the Employee Onboarding and Development Department (EOD) at (702) 799-1092 or email eod@nv.ccsd.net.

There is no pre-registration for the NTK. Attendees will be required to sign in at the registration counter on the day of the event.

Self-parking is available at West CTA.

Yes, the NTK is a contracted workday for all new licensed teachers who must report to the NTK at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that all teachers will report to their schools for a half day after the scheduled NTK.

Professional attire is expected, as the NTK is a contracted workday for new licensed employees. Please plan to dress in layers due to possible temperature fluctuations in the event meeting space.

No, childcare will not be provided. This is a contracted work day for all new licensed employees.

Yes. A secure Mother's Room will be available to any nursing mothers who require a discreet place to take care of their needs.

As the official start of the 2026-2027 contracted work year for all new licensed employees, employees will report to their assigned work location each day starting Wednesday, July 29, 2026. To obtain specific start times, employees may contact their site administrator.

Each school will provide its own site-based activities. These may include a school tour, school procedures and expectations, professional learning, or time to work in classrooms. Employees can contact their school with any questions.

Please contact the Human Resources Unit at (702) 799-2992 (option 1). Additional information and new hire tasks are found on the CCSD New Hire Checklist. Keep in mind that Onboarding Activities (aka new hire paperwork) are managed by the Human Resources Unit, not the EOD Department.
