Focus Area - Each year, DZG staff review current enrollment and program capacity of each school with AZAC and the Instruction Unit in order to determine schools to be identified as Focus Areas for possible rezoning.
FOCUS AREAS UNDER CONSIDERATION
FOR THE 2026—2027 ZONING SEASON
FOCUS AREA E1: (Trustee District B - Lydia Dominguez; Municipality Las Vegas - Adam Johnson)
The purpose of this Focus Area is to establish an attendance boundary for the new elementary school at Shaumber Road and Sky Canyon Park Drive opening in 2027 and evaluate the existing attendance boundaries of James H. Bilbray, Kenneth Divich, and William and Mary Scherkenbach Elementary Schools – Region 1.
FOCUS AREA E2: (Trustee District G - Linda P. Cavazos; Municipality Henderson - Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan)
The purpose of this Focus Area is to evaluate the existing attendance boundaries of Estes M. McDoniel, Jim Thorpe, and Harriet A. Treem Elementary Schools – Region 3.
FOCUS AREA M1: (Trustee District A - Emily Stevens and Trustee District G - Linda P. Cavazos; Municipality Clark County - Lisa Satory and Municipality Henderson - Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan)
The purpose of this Focus Area is to evaluate the existing attendance boundaries of Francis H. Cortney Middle School, and Barbara and Hank Greenspun Junior High School – Region 3.
FOCUS AREA H1: (Trustee District A - Emily Stevens, Trustee District F - Irene Bustamante Adams and Trustee District G - Linda P. Cavazos; Municipality Clark County - Lisa Satory and Municipality Henderson - Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan)
The purpose of this Focus Area is to evaluate the existing attendance boundaries of Desert Oasis and Silverado High Schools – Regions 2 and 3.
FOCUS AREA H2: (Trustee District C - Tameka Henry, Trustee District D - Brenda Zamora, Trustee District F - Irene Bustamante Adams, and Trustee District G - Linda P. Cavazos; Municipality Clark County - Lisa Satory, Municipality Las Vegas - Adam Johnson and Municipality North Las Vegas - Isaac Barron)
The purpose of this Focus Area is to evaluate the existing attendance boundaries of Chaparral, Ed W. Clark, Desert Pines, Las Vegas, Rancho and Valley High Schools – Regions 2 and 3.
