Hi! My name is Mrs. Olson, and I am very excited to be teaching the Life Skills Program and coaching cheer and Cimarron-Memorial High School this school year! I am thrilled to be in such an amazing program and looking forward to create new goals, skills, and making sure my students and athletes achieve their goals to their best ability. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and why Cimarron-Memorial is so close to my heart.

I am a family person and born into teaching. I have two beautiful daughters under the age of 2. My great grandparents were both teachers. My great grandpa Derfelt helped start the education program at UNLV and had Derfelt Elementary named after him. My grandmother and my parents were teachers in the Clark County School District for over 30 years. I am married to a teacher, and my brother and sister-in-law are both teachers.

I am passionate about teaching Life Skills in Special Education. I am an advocate for the value, inclusion and acceptance of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and I want to dedicate my life to making the world a better place for my students and others living with disabilities. I want to create a path for students with disabilities to become more valued, accepted and included in every community. #notbroken
