"Peace begins with a smile" -                        Mother Teresa

Welcome to Room 30!

I am very excited to be your child's teacher this school year! Math and science are a foundation to a world of learning and growth.  I will be integrating these subjects with all curriculum  to help open doors to their critical thinking.  I hope to help my students see the wonder of the world through their discovery, curiosity, and processing of information. I look forward to working in partnership with you for a great 2023-2024 school year.

I  came into education with a varied degree of service. I joined the United States Navy  after high school.   After coming home, I attended and graduated from California State University San Bernardino with a degree in Human Development, with an emphasis in Child Development. I subsequently worked as an administrator in a group home for developmentally disabled boys with behavior problems.  After moving to Las Vegas, I attended the University of Phoenix and received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.  I have had the privilege of teaching in Clark County School District for the past 20 years.

I have taught second through fifth grade, 4/5 combination class, as well as currently departmentalized math and science class. I love using technology and hands-on experience to build a love of learning with my students. In our classroom, discourse allows us not only to learn from each other, but to also  verbally reflect on what we're learning by sharing with a partner or a group through different mediums.

My husband and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary in November. We have 2 of the world's greatest daughters in the world!
