I Am Very Excited To Be Your Child's
Math and Science Teacher!
Math is an essential part of human logic and thought. It provides an effective way of building mental discipline and encourages logical reasoning and mental rigor. This leads to productive struggle where your child will be challenged to work towards creative thinking and problem solving through their journey of deep learning. I hope my students see the wonders of the world through their discovery, curiosity, and processing of information. I look forward to working in partnership with you this school year.
I came into education with a varied degree of service starting with joining the United States Navy after high school. After coming home, I attended and graduated from California State University San Bernardino with a degree in Human Development, with an emphasis in Child Development. I subsequently worked as an administrator in a group home for developmentally disabled boys with behavior problems. I was conferred a Masters Degree in Elementary Teacher Education from the University of Phoenix. I have had the privilege of teaching in Clark County School District for the past 20 years.
I have taught second through fifth grade, 4/5 combination class, as well as departmentalized math and science class. We will use technology and hands-on experience to build a love of learning. In our classroom, discourse allows us not only to learn from each other, but to also verbally reflect on what we're learning by sharing with a partner or a group through different mediums.
My husband and I will celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary in November. We have 2 of the world's greatest daughters in the world!
