About our mariachi program
About our mariachi program
Mariachi Los Gavilanes de Monaco Middle School has been serving the Las Vegas community since 2002. Our music organization is one of the nation's largest mariachi programs. Mariachi student enrollment at Monaco Middle School started at around 99 students and has skyrocketed to over 515 mariachi students.
Every year, members of Mariachi Los Gavilanes have been consistently chosen to be a part of the CCSD All-City Mariachi, CCSD Honor Mariachi, and the CCSD Director’s Choice Mariachi. Mariachi Los Gavilanes has represented the Clark County School District with performances in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.
Mariachi Los Gavilanes de Monaco Middle School has shared the stage with the Temptations and the The Four Tops. They have performed for Mayor Goodman, Carlos Santana, Senator Harry Reid, and members of Congress. Mariachi Los Gavilanes was also invited to perform at the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence at Pixar Studios!
Inspired by their mariachi directors, the primary mission of Mariachi Los Gavilanes de Monaco Middle School is to promote a higher level of music education and appreciation for mariachi music.
