"In Orff Schulwerk classrooms, children begin with what they do instinctively: play!"
The Clark County Elementary Music Curriculum is based on Orff Schulwerk. This is an approach that uses singing, dancing, playing, speaking, and creating to teach music. The structure of the class is designed so that all students succeed, where one of the rewards is the pleasure of making good music with others.
The CCSD Objectives and Grade Level Expectations were just revised in 2011. The objectives are separated into five elements: Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, Form, and Expressive Qualities.
