Join the Band!!!

The Band program is for students who already know how to play an instrument or want to learn a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument. In Band students learn to apply the fundamentals of reading music and instrument technique which in turn leads to personal mastery and ensemble performance. We offer the following and more:

• Students can learn to play the: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe Bassoon, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion.

• We offer opportunities to play a variety of different music from different backgrounds and cultures.

• We offer ​Jazz Band for students looking to study the jazz idiom. We also encourage any student with a background in Electric Bass, Piano, or Electric Guitar to participate in our jazz program.

• We offer opportunities for students to learn, and play with professional artists and tutors from the community.

• We have our own Woodwind Specialist as well as brass and percussion paraprofessionals.

• KO Band is an award winning program that has received Superior ratings at CCSD Festivals.

• We provide opportunities and assistance for students to play in small ensembles and solos.

• We provide a first class performance experiences for our students through our unique Theater venue which no other middle school has.

​The Courses we offer include: Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and Jazz Band.
