MUSIC PRODUCTION I 6-8
This one-year course will introduce students to the concepts, techniques, and terminology of computing through music application. Using project-based learning, students will gain experience with current hardware and software for music sequencing, synthesis, and performance. Designed to develop a basic understanding of music theory on the piano, students will study the staff, rhythm basics, the piano keyboard, plus major scales and chords. Learning to record, students will be working with the Digital Audio Workstation software where they will learn to record and edit music. The ultimate goal is to develop students as musicians. This course is appropriate for students in grades 6-8.
MUSIC PRODUCTION II 7-8
This one year course combines music theory, history of music and the creative use of computers for digital recording as a continuation from Music Production I. Students will explore different aspects of music that define style, form, genre, and period and develop the vocabulary to discuss them. Students will explore the influence of music in society throughout the years while expanding their understandings of musical theory to enhance musicianship. Students will learn more advanced recording techniques and procedures, digital audio editing, studio terminology, microphone technique and Midi recording using professional software, while working in our digital audio music lab. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Music Production I.
MUSIC PRODUCTION III 8
This one year course is a continuation of Music Production 7. This course offers students an independent, project-based learning environment where they combine their musical and production skills with their wide knowledge of popular music, to create professional sounding music recordings. This course is highly individualized and encourages students to follow the path of their particular musical interests. In addition to their own musical productions, Music Production III students create custom music for the morning announcements and collaborate with students to create and deliver custom music for their media and film projects. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Music Production II and teacher recommendation.

My name is Ms. Kellum. This is my seventh year teaching in the Clark County School District and my fourth year at Mike O’Callaghan Middle School i3 Learn Academy. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign with a degree in music.
Music Production combines my passions for technology and music into one cohesive subject. I'm excited to share my passions with you so you may pursue your own hopes and dreams. In Music Production, the main goal is to create music that you love, that you can be proud of, and that represents your authentic musical self.
