The Bristlecone Storytelling Festival is an exciting, voluntary program offered to fourth through twelfth grade students. The students are taught storytelling skills that support the English/ Language Arts/Reading curriculum.
The Bristlecone Storytelling Festival begins in classrooms. Teachers schedule individual classroom festivals that provide students the opportunity to practice the storytelling craft for an audience. Classes select students who are “festival ready” to participate in a school-wide storytelling festival. Students who participate in the school's storytelling festival select two school stories to be performed at a District Storytelling Festival. The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's theaters and CCSD schools will host these festivals.
