The school library program supports all areas of the curriculum by providing students and staff access to information through the use of resources and technology. Literacy and a love of reading are promoted by exposing students to a variety of literary genres and selections. Through inquiry learning, students are taught to gather, comprehend, evaluate, synthesize and report on information and ideas, and also to be able to conduct original research in order to answer questions and solve problems. Access to print and electronic resources, including a wide range of current and age-appropriate fiction and informational text, is available through our shared Destiny catalog. The school library program emphasizes collaborative planning between teacher-librarians, teachers, and administrators to provide library instruction, relevant collections, and integrated learning opportunities.
