About the Teacher

Welcome to first grade at Shirley Barber Elementary School. I am excited and honored that you have entrusted me with your child’s educational achievements for the next 10 months. Together, we will learn and grow while never forgetting to have fun!

My name is Samantha Ibsen. This is my 2nd year teaching and I am excited about the new challenge of distance learning. I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Western Governor's University. I hope to make my students’ distance learning experience positive and rewarding. I love working with children and seeing them grow academically.

I am a mom of two young girls. One is in 3rd grade this year. So I completely understand parents’ fears and struggles with distance learning. It is my goal to work with parents and students to make this a successful year.
