How will your child get home from school?

Be consistent and be SURE your child's teacher knows!

It is ESSENTIAL to let your child's teacher know how they will go home from school each day and it is IMPORTANT to maintain a routine from Day 1 of school. Please choose a method and share this information with your child's teacher (and our front office when you are registering. Your child will be assigned a family number to support a safe pickup. Here are the ways our students get home from school:

  • Bus- Go to: https://transportation.ccsd.net/ or call 702-799-8100 for information or to see if your child qualifies for bus service.

  • Front Gate or Back Gate Family Pickup - If you or a family member will come on foot to pick-up, use the pick-up stations at the front or back gate. Be sure to wait safely and patiently in the pick-up line and have your child's family number card and ID with you.

  • Kiss & Go Car Line - Our kiss & go car line is quick and efficient! Just have your car hangar/family number ready so we can call your child from class and you will be on your way in no time at all!

  • Independent Walker - If your child walks home with other students or individually without an adult picking them up, be sure your teacher is aware and teach them safety procedures.

  • After school program participants: YMCA Power Scholars and Safekey Participants go directly to their programming. See more info below.

Family Numbers: Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

What is a family number?

A family number is a number assigned to students to ensure safety and to help make our dismissal run more smoothly. You will not have a different number for each child, rather, all members of one family will have the same family number. Sometimes the numbers will cotain members of more than one family who live at the same location or are picked up by the same person every day. Let us know if you have additions or deletions to your family compisition so we can make any needed changes.

How do you use a family number?

Each family was provided with a car hangar with their child's family number on it. This should be displayed in the rear-view mirror of the car if you pick up at kiss and go or presented to school staff at the front or back gates of the school if a family member picks up there. Bus riders also have family numbers so that we can easily call students from the waiting area if there is a very late bus and families come pick up instead of waiting for its arrival.

Also, your child was provided with a family number button which should be placed on their backpack strap so that it is easily seen from the FRONT when they are facing/walking towards school staff. This makes it much easier to see who is coming and get them to their family member more quickly.

What if I lose my family number windshield hangar or my child loses their button?

We can make you a replacement for any lost car hangar or button. Due to the costs incurred to purchase and print materials - and the time/labor it takes to order car hangars or make buttons, there is a replacement cost of $2.00 for each car hangar or button lost.
