Welcome to the Roger Gehring Elementary School website! It is a privilege to serve as the principal of a diversity-focused elementary school that offers its students an academically rich and rigorous program to strengthen the entry to exit outcomes for families of all racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. Gehring ES is committed to educational excellence and the success of each and every one of its students. To achieve this end, we work collaboratively with parents to provide a positive, safe, and caring environment where each child is valued as a unique individual, provided opportunities for academic and social growth, and challenged to achieve academic success commensurate with his/her abilities.
A little about me......
I started my educational career in New York as a kindergarten teacher, trained teacher of the deaf, and speech therapist. I moved to Las Vegas with my husband and three children in 1997 and have worked in the Clark County School District as a speech therapist, an elementary school assistant principal, and for the past thirteen years, as an elementary school principal. When I am not at school, I enjoy traveling, reading, taking Pilates classes, and visiting my children and grandchildren in New York and San Diego.

Hi, my name is Stanica Sretenovic and I am looking forward to another exciting year as the Assistant Principal of Roger Gehring Elementary School! The upcoming 2017-2018 school year will be another successful year filled with learning, growing and achieving! It is such a pleasure and privilege to be part of your journey!
Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, I was a teacher for ten years here in our district. I have two of my own students, a daughter who will be a senior this year and a son who will be a sophomore. I also have a spoiled dog named Fluffy.
My knowledge of best practices and passion for education will guide me to support the staff and students in meeting the rigors of the Nevada Academic Content Standards. Increasing opportunities for students to think critically and engage in collaborative dialogue will support them in building their confidence in becoming independent learners.
I am beyond excited for this school year and looking forward to seeing your smiling faces! Go Geckos!
