How do I apply to Eldorado Magnet?

Apply to Eldorado Magnet for the 2024-2025 school year at apply.magnet.ccsd.net. You may apply to up to three programs.

Do magnet students qualify for transportation? 

Transportation is provided for students who live within the Eldorado transportation zone. Check eligibility by clicking the buttons below. Contact the CCSD transportation office at 702-799-8100 if you have any questions. Please note: Parents must provide transportation for magnet students who live outside the zone.

Which programs are eligible for FREE CTE College Credit?

Students who successfully complete their CTE program of study (program completers) MAY be eligible for FREE college credit from a variety of post-secondary institutions in Nevada. The following Eldorado CTE programs are currently articulated with college credit: Animation (Classes 2024-2026 only), Automotive Technology, Community Health Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Graphic Design, Marketing and Theatre Technology.

What does it mean to be a "program completer?"

What is a Career & Technical Student Organization?

A Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) is a co-curricular "club" that is associated with one or more of our CTE programs of study.  All CTSOs are student-led organizations that provide opportunities for career and professional development, community service, leadership and competitive events. What is academic probation?

Per the magnet contract, all CCSD magnet students agree to maintain an overall 2.0 GPA, no more than 10 absences (excused or unexcused) per semester, no D's or F's, no N's or U's, no excessive tardies, and no behavior infractions. Any magnet student who fails to meet one or more of these criteria will be placed on Academic Probation, with the following procedure:

Can I change my magnet major?

At this time, Eldorado Magnet freshmen may request a one-time program change to become effective at the beginning 10th grade. Requests are reviewed monthly and changes are granted on a case-by-case, space-available, basis. Any student may request to change to the Animation/Digital Media or Military Science majors, but students requesting a change to the Digital Game Development or Cybersecurity majors must meet academic criteria. 10th and 11th graders are not permitted to request changes at this time. Can I withdraw from the magnet?

Per the magnet contract, all CCSD magnet students agree to remain enrolled in the magnet for the entire year. Any student may withdraw from the magnet at the end of the school year. Magnet students who are NOT ZONED for Eldorado MUST remain enrolled in the magnet program to remain enrolled at Eldorado. Student-athletes who return to their zoned school are ineligible for the remainder of the school year in which they withdraw and for 180 school days in any sport as per NIAA (Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association).

If extenuating circumstances exist and the student needs to withdraw mid-year, please contact the Magnet Coordinator.

Welcome to our Eldorado family! 

Once you have logged into the magnet application system and accepted your seat, you will need to complete your CCSD Online Registration (OLR) if you haven't completed it already.  Existing CCSD students click here. New to CCSD? Click here. You may either bring your supporting documents to the school or you may email them.
