Mrs. Erin Carr grew up in the Henderson, NV area and graduate as a dance major from Las Vegas Academy for the Performing Arts. Mrs. Carr earned her Bachelors’ Degree in Dance Education from Southern Utah University and her Masters’ Degree in Arts & Culture Management from University of Denver. Throughout her career, Mrs. Carr has earned numerous rewards such as "Performer of the Year," "Dance Educator of the Year," and "Best Choreography."
At SUU, Mrs. Carr performed and choreographed for Student and Faculty Dance Concerts, the SUU Ballroom Dance Team, and the Shifting Velocity Modern Dance Company. Mrs. Carr presented her self-choreographed modern solo, "Desensitized" at the American College Dance Association regional conference in 2017. As an AmeriCorps Education Volunteer, Mrs. Carr produced various elementary school musicals in Cedar City, UT. Mrs. Carr also studied abroad in Taipei, Taiwan studying classical and Asian cultural dance. She completed her student teaching at Tuacahn High School of the Arts in Ivins, UT where she choreographed a majority of their spring dance concert. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a certificate in arts-integration.
From 2013-2021, Mrs. Carr performed professionally at Walt Disney World in multiple shows and parades across the property. Her credits include the "Festival of the Lion King," "Move it, Shake it, Mousekedance it" Street Party Parade, "Festival of Fantasy" Parade, "Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire," "Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration," "Monster's Inc. Dance Party," "Hoedown Happenin" and "Disney's Electrical Parade."
While with the Walt Disney Company, Mrs. Carr earned her Master's Degree "Arts & Culture Management" with an emphasis in "Outreach and Advocacy" with the Disney Aspire program. In her master's research, Mrs. Carr correlated how dance teaches children social-emotional skills and how these skills can shape student's future success.
Mrs. Carr cannot wait to share her love of dance with the students at Del Webb Middle School.
