Phoenix Teams were implemented by D28N LTG Kamya Winbush-Kline to foster unity and support within the division. Additionally, Phoenix Teams will serve the purpose of increasing the amount of service hours logged and funds donated within the division.
Phoenix Team Pairings:
Las Vegas Academy with Las Vegas and Legacy
ECTA with Canyon Springs and VTCTA
ATECH with Rancho and Mojave
Goals:
Increase the number of service events and fundraisers within the division.
Increase service hours logged and funds donated by all clubs.
Foster teamwork skills by putting club boards in the position of planning events with other club boards and connecting Key Club members.
Allow service events to be larger to attract more members.
Give newer Key Clubbers a sense of belonging and guidance through peer support.
Requirements:
Expectations are that each team has a group service project at least once a Key Club Quarter starting from Quarter 2 to be showcased at the October 12th, 2022; December 3rd, 2022; and February 4th, 2023 DCMs. The following stipulations would apply:
Service projects must be physical events, even if the groups do them in separate locations over a video conference.
At least two of the projects have to be centered around acts of service and not fundraising.
All clubs must contribute to the best of their abilities in planning and executing the event.
Incentive/Recognition:
Besides fostering a deeper connection between clubs, an incentive is an annual recognition at the yearly banquet to recognize the group with the most impactful service projects. This does not necessarily have to be the group with the most service hours logged or funds raised as a group. This is an esteemed division recognition and will be treated as such when planning items of recognition.
FAQ:
What counts as a service project?
Activities that are completed physically - not over technology unless the technology is a mere aspect that is not crucial to the event being carried out or if multiple clubs are meeting over the use of technology to complete the project in separate locations.
What is the difference between acts of service and fundraising?
Acts of service are things you do that support a community without the use of fundraising. Fundraising may be involved in the minimal 2 projects centered around acts of service; however, it may not be the main aspect.
How do I communicate with the clubs in my Phoenix Team?
You should make use of the contact database to reach your team's boards and advisors through email. It is good etiquette to introduce yourselves to the other club advisors and it is imperative that you include them in all of your planning.
If you have any issues contact your LTG, remember all clubs should be participating.
When are Phoenix Team submissions due?
Two days before their respective DCMs!
