Hello K.O. Knudson Academy of the Arts families. I am excited to begin this journey with all of you, and I'm looking forward to a spectacular 2023-2024 school year. My hope is that it is going to be filled with fun, learning, and new adventures.
I am a native Las Vegan and love my hometown. As a graduate of Clark High School, CSN and UNLV, I am a product our local school system, and have always viewed education as an essential and meaningful part of my life. I have also earned a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, which is something that I am truly passionate about. As a child of a German immigrant, I grew up watching my mother struggle to learn the language, culture, and climate of this great country. Her strength and determination continue to inspire me.
I have taught in the Clark County School District for approximately 27 years, and in the English Department at K.O. Knudson for 20 of those. I love teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else each day.Â
I also enjoy spending time with my family and pets, traveling to new and exciting places, and relaxing with a good book or movie. When I'm not at KO, you might just find me taking in our local scenery at Mount Charleston, Red Rock, or Lake Mead.
