The role of the School Social Worker is to provide support to all students, families, and staff within the school community. This support is provided at different levels based on the individual needs. The School Social Worker collaborates with other school personnel (i.e. Administration, School Counselor, Behavior Interventionist, Teachers, and Special Education Instructional Facilitator) to provide comprehensive services to students and their families. Teachers and other staff may make referrals to the School Social Worker through an internal process. The School Social Worker helps with connecting families to community resources, provides Social Emotional Learning groups to classes or small groups, as well as providing individualized School-Based Mental Health services on a case by case basis. School Social Workers can act as Foster Care Advocates and Title 1 School Coordinators.
During this time of Distance Learning ALL services will be provided through telecommunications such as phone, Google Meets, or Google Hangout. In order to participate in individualized services a special School Telehealth Consent Form will need to be completed and returned. If for any reason you are unable to complete this form and return there is an option for verbal consent and a copy will be emailed to the guardian.
I am monitoring these messages, during office hours, Monday-Friday, from 7am-2:11pm, and will respond as soon as possible.
