Transitional Kindergarten is designed to be a stepping stone into the Kindergarten program. With more focus on social/emotional development and skills for independence, students will engage in play-based learning. Through play, they will learn social skills as well as TK academic standards that will prepare them for their Kindergarten year. TK essential standards are based on a combination of the Preschool Learning Foundations and some Kindergarten essential standards.

El Kínder de transición (TK) está diseñado para ser un trampolín hacia el programa de Kindergarten. Con más enfoque en el desarrollo social / emocional y las habilidades para la independencia, los estudiantes participarán en el aprendizaje basado en el juego. This is my 20th year teaching. I’ve taught Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I LOVE what I do!
I have 2 kids: Chet 17 who just went off to college in Montana to become a certified welder! And Addy 15 who is a sophomore at San Marin and loves riding horses and playing soccer. My husband and I went to Terra Linda High School together and we love being on our boat and camping. We also have lots of pets :)
The thing I love most about teaching is connecting with my students. I believe when a child feels connected, important, and capable, then they can truly be successful.

Este es mi vigésimo año de enseñanza. He enseñado Pre-K, 1º, 2º y 3º. ¡Yo amo lo que hago!
Tengo 2 hijos: Chet 16 y Addy 14. Mi esposo y yo fuimos juntos a la preparatoria Terra Linda y nos encanta estar en nuestro bote y acampar. También tenemos muchas mascotas :)
Lo que más me gusta de la enseñanza es conectarme con mis alumnos. Creo que cuando un niño se siente conectado, importante y capaz, entonces realmente puede tener éxito.

Following a career in accounting and finance, I became a Kindergarten teacher here at Loma Verde 10 years ago. This is my first year sharing a class, and I can’t think of a better person to team teach with than Mrs. McMorrow.
I am a firm believer that children need to 1) believe in themselves, 2) know someone believes in them, and 3) develop a love of learning.
I have two children myself, Joshua 28 and Brianna 26. My wife, Tiki, you might know from our office. I love to fly fish, golf, spend time with family, watch football, and laugh.
I am so excited to get to know your children this year!

Después de una carrera en contabilidad y finanzas, me convertí en maestra de jardín de infantes aquí en Loma Verde hace 10 años. Este es mi primer año compartiendo una clase, y no puedo pensar en una mejor persona para enseñar en equipo que la Sra. McMorrow.
Creo firmemente que los niños necesitan 1) creer en sí mismos, 2) saber que alguien cree en ellos y 3) desarrollar el amor por el aprendizaje.

This is my 9th year teaching and my second year in Kindergarten. I feel very lucky to be on a team with Mr. Martin.
My favorite part of teaching is building relationships with children. The more we learn about each other the stronger our community becomes.
I have three children; Raymond is 21, Violette is 10, and Lucy is 6. My husband, Ben, is a die hard Giants fan. Your students will learn my love for tacos, music, and all adventures, big and small.
This is going to be a great year!

Este es mi nueve año de enseñanza y mi segunda año en el jardín de infancia. Me siento muy afortunado de estar en un equipo con el Sr. Martin.
Mi parte favorita de la enseñanza es establecer relaciones con sus hijos. Cuanto más aprendemos unos de otros, más fuertes nos volvemos.

This is my sixth year in education. I have worked as a behavioral therapist, a 6th grade teacher, a foreign English language teacher in South Korea, and various roles in schools (I was a paraeducator in Mr. Martin’s class last year!).
I love experiencing students grow as learners and human beings; and building connections that support that growth are one of the many reasons I enjoy teaching.

Este es mi sexto año en educación. Trabajé como terapeuta conductual, maestra de sexto grado, maestra de idioma inglés extranjero en Corea del Sur y varios roles en las escuelas (¡fui paraeducadora en la clase del Sr. Martin el año pasado!).
Me encanta experimentar que los estudiantes crezcan como aprendices y seres humanos; y construir conexiones que apoyen ese crecimiento son una de las muchas razones por las que disfruto enseñando.

This is my sixth year teaching and my fourth year here at Loma Verde. It is also my first year teaching Kindergarten.
I have a daughter, Frankie (2), a stepdaughter, Sophie (13), and my fiance Chris and I are expecting another baby near the end of September.
While this year is going to be different, my hope is that your children will have the opportunity to build relationships with one another while make lasting memories... along with some great learning!
