Maine offers 24/7 crisis support through the Maine Crisis Line, mobile crisis teams, and specialized crisis prevention services for adults with developmental disabilities.

Maine Crisis Line (MCL)

The Maine Crisis Line is the state’s centralized mental health crisis lifeline, staffed 24/7 by clinically trained crisis workers who provide support by phone, text, or chat.

• Call/Text: 1‑888‑568‑1112 or text “HOME” to 741‑741

• Chat: Available via the MCL website

• Services: Crisis intervention, suicide prevention, stabilization, and referrals to local resources.

• If immediate danger: Call 911 and tell the dispatcher, it’s a mental health crisis

Crisis Prevention and Intervention

Services (CPIS)

For adults 18+ eligible for Developmental Disability Services or living in a Brain Injury waiver home, CPIS offers 24/7 crisis support www.maine.gov.

• Hotline: 1‑888‑568‑1112 (ask for a developmental disability crisis worker)
