Research Duration: 4-6 months
(between 1 May to 31 December 2026)

(2 Full, 4 Partial Type 1, 5 Partial Type 2)
🟢Applicant-Proposed Topic:
The applicant proposes their own research topic, including a clear outline of the research plan. The applicant must also identify a faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences who has relevant expertise and is willing to serve as a research advisor. Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be international graduate students (2nd year or above).
- Be affiliated with an overseas university.
- Demonstrate English proficiency by providing proof of one of the following:
(i) TOEFL iBT score of 70 or higher
(ii) IELTS ≥ 6.0 or higher (with no band lower than 5.5)
(iii)CEFR level B2 or above
(iv) Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempted from this requirement.
● Participate in graduate-level seminars or academic activities assigned by the Faculty.
● Submit a progress report to the Faculty Committee before the end of the fellowship.
● Publish the research in an international peer-reviewed journal (within 2 years), co-authored with the NU faculty advisor, and clearly acknowledge the scholarship.
● Sign a formal Research Scholarship Agreement, as provided in the official template.
● The scholarship and agreement may be terminated if: 1) Either party fails to comply with the terms of the agreement; or 2) There is unavoidable circumstance that prevents the grantee from continuing the research.
● If the scholarship is terminated, the grantee must return all remaining funds. In cases of unavoidable circumstances, the Faculty Committee may consider a partial refund or waive repayment, as deemed appropriate.
If the research cannot be completed on time, the grantee may request a one-time extension of up to 2 months. The request must be submitted at least 30 days in advance and approved by the NU advisor and the home institution supervisor (for students), or the head of department (for lecturers). The grantee is responsible for all living expenses during the extension.
