Guest Speaker Jackie Bedore

REFLECT TRUTH, BEAUTY, GOODNESS

In offering our lives to God, we receive His blessing

and gain that which is our heart's desire —

 — lives fulfilling their intended purpose and intimacy with our Lord.

One of five children and cradle Catholic, Jackie Bedore, continually sought ways to grow deeper in her relationship with God from childhood on. Born in North Carolina and raised primarily in Illinois, Jackie spent significant time as a toddler in the presider's chair during Mass. When her girlhood dreams of priesthood were squashed, she appropriately sought out other ways to serve God. She found her vocation as a wife and mother of three children, teacher in public education and then later through ministry. In ministry for the Catholic Church, she developed a passionate relationship with our Lord through formation in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as a level 1,2, and 3 catechist, and catechist formation leader through certification in the Theology of the Body Institute, and through her close work with the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey as the Director of Campus ministry at Benet Academy in Lisle, Il. A recent transplant to Texas, thanks to God's Grace and her two Baylor Bear children, Jackie now serves as the Director of Catechesis and Evangelization and Coordinator of Children's Formation at St. Francis of Assisi parish in Grapevine, Tx. In this role, she has regained her childlike wonder as she ponders the roots of our Catholic faith, the liturgy and prayer—the means for us all to "climb" into our Father's lap and become one with Him.
