About Commerce Faculty

Introduction :

In June 1964 Arts and Commerce college was established, It was the only college covering the whole tribal area of Satpuda Hills, hence it received good response from urban, rural and tribal male and female students. The spread over of education, availability of specious premises and infrastructural facilities created favorable situation for post graduate classes. The college started post graduate M. Com. Part-I in June 1972.

Prof. P. K. Ketkar was head of the department of commerce in the beginning, after his death in the year 1996 Prof. G. B. Rajput lead the department, after his retirement, Prof. M. S. Giram took over the responsibility as head of the department. Presently Prof. V. M. Ahirrao is working as Head of the department.  All the commerce faculty members have strived hard for increasing the number of students and also for increasing the overall examination result. 

The commerce faculty has a successful alumni, many of our students have been working as Charted Accountants, Income Tax Consultants, Government Officers, Bank employees , Teachers and entrepreneurs. 

The head and all the faculty members actively participate in Curricular, Co-Curricular and extra curricular activities of the college.

Aims and Objectives :

• To impart knowledge of commerce related subjects

• To impart training of communication skills

• To create computer awareness among the students

• To prepare the students for higher professional courses

• To orient the students for self employment

• To enhance the academic standards of students

• To develop overall personality of the students

• Bachelor in Commerce (B. Com. ) NEP-2020 Pattern : Duration 3 Years

• Master in Commerce (M. Com.) NEP-2020 Pattern : Duration 2 Years

• Certificate course in Data Analytics Duration 3 Months
