Conservatory Certifications

For those students with a desire to advance their studies, the NTPA Academy Conservatory offers a two and four-year certification program that will enhance their high school transcript, college applications and professional auditions and interviews. This certificate acknowledges and documents the completion of a body of work that includes classroom, intern, and performance requirements to achieve recognition in the defined certification.

Each of the Six Certifications (see the Syllabi page for classes under each certification) has specific course requirements in addition to Internship and Performance expectations. Please refer to each of the certifications listed below:

General Theatre Certification - 60 Hours of Qualified Production Internship & Approved participation in two qualified NTPA Major Productions (Please note: Students MUST complete the general Theatre Certification before they will be eligible to complete the Acting or Musical Theatre Certification. However, they may take classes in any of the certifications at any time.)

• Acting Certification - Additional 60 Hours of Qualified Production Internship & Approved participation in two additional qualified NTPA Major productions

• Musical Theatre Certification - Additional 60 Hours of Qualified Production Internship & Approved participation in two additional qualified NTPA Major Musical Productions

• Theatrical Professions - Additional 120 Hours of approved Qualified Production Internship

• Film & Television Certification - Creation of two short video works approved by Academy faculty & Creation of a short advertising message or equivalent, pre-approved by Academic faculty

• Dance Certification - 60 hours of continued dance education class participation through the NTPA Dance Program & Must Choreograph & Present a Piece in Fall or Spring Showcase

Internship Process

Academy and ACE students must fill out this form in order to be approved for Academy Certification or ACE Intern Credit.
