YouTube

Overview

With nearly 5 billion views a day, and 300 hours of content uploaded every minute, YouTube is the largest collection of video content on the internet. Searching for the right content can be difficult, but YouTube offers the ability to curate videos and playlists for your students (and substitute teachers).

CLASSROOM APPLICATIONS

Flipped Classroom

Spend more time on class discussions and projects by flipping your classroom and assigning your students lessons to view as homework. Whether recorded by you or curated by you, a video lesson can help students prepare for the next day's activities.

Additional Resources

For any students who need additional instruction, or for those who would like to explore a topic further, a playlist of videos can dig deeper or expand upon a lesson or lecture.

Video Projects

Have your students create and share their own video projects. Whether it's a short film or a video essay, YouTube is a great way for a student to publish their work to the class, the school or the world. Several apps, including iMovie and Explain Everything, can export directly to a YouTube account, while others can export to the Camera Roll and be uploaded from there.

Project Ideas:

      • Short films
      • Animations
      • Voice-overs
      • Interviews
      • Performance / Audition Videos
