As part of its ongoing dedication to humanitarian service, the NTC-RCYC organized and delivered a vital First Aid Training. This program was designed to equip students with essential life-saving skills and practical basic emergency response techniques. By providing this crucial education, the council ensures that more individuals are prepared to confidently and competently handle emergencies, reinforcing the Red Cross Youth's mission of promoting health and safety within the National Teachers College.
The NTC-RCYC launched a Pledge 25 Campaign “Vital Vow” to promote voluntary blood donation and recruit potential blood donors within the campus. The activity aimed to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood, the proper guidelines before and after donation, and who is eligible to donate, such as individuals aged 16 (with parental consent) to 65 years old, weighing at least 50 kg, and in good health. Participants also learned where to access safe blood, particularly through the Philippine Red Cross Blood Services.
The NTC-RCYC, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, successfully conducted a Blood Donation Drive to help save lives and support patients in need of blood.
The activity provided students and staff the opportunity to become voluntary blood donors, while also promoting awareness on the importance of regular and safe blood donation. Donors underwent proper screening and were guided through the process by certified medical professionals from the Philippine Red Cross Blood Services.
The NTC-RCYC conducted BREAKING THE CHAIN: HIV/AIDS Prevention Education, a campus-based awareness session aimed at educating students on the facts about HIV and AIDS.
The session covered essential topics such as modes of transmission, myths and misconceptions, prevention strategies including safe practices and regular testing, and the importance of ending stigma and discrimination.
The NTC-RCYC took part in the 8th Council Management Course held at Terre Verte Farm Resort in Indang, Cavite from November 30 to December 1, 2024.
