The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex has been a key venue to showcase, preserve, develop, and promote culture and arts in the Philippines. The Tanghalang Pambansa, formerly known as Theater of Performing Arts, is the flagship venue located in the CCP Complex. This massive structure is divided into different venues; Film Theater, Little Theater, Main Theater, and Studio Theater. The design of the said structure was based on Nipa Hut, a house that is indigenous to the culture of the Philippines. It has a floating volume trait, which happened to be the signature style of Locsin. This brutalist structure is an important cultural landmark in the Philippines as per Republic Act No. 10066.

Unbeknownst to everyone, The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex is a collaborative architectural masterpiece between the legendary architects Leandro Locsin and IP Santos. Leandro Locsin was responsible for the design of the structure of the CCP itself while IP Santos was responsible for the landscaping of the said structure. The combination of the structural design and landscaping of The CCP is the embodiment of Philippine Architecture. The Philippines is so rich in natural resources, so IP Santos took advantage of it and used local materials as much as possible. Santos’ landscapes took advantage of the bountiful and richness of our country’s tropical plants and foliage. His projects considered the need for shade, close-seating, conversation, and social interaction, and is sensitive to the psychological, behavioral, and social needs of the Filipinos. This gave his works a distinctive Filipino feel.
