Housing
All meeting events will take place on the University of Houston campus and participants are encouraged to stay at the campus hotel.
A block of discounted rooms has been reserved. In order to get this discount, please call the hotel (832-531-6300) and ask for the "AGDW" block; do not book online. Only hotel reservations made prior to October 1st are guaranteed to get the discount; please call early.
Both double and single rooms have been booked. If you would like a double room to save on costs but don't have a roommate determined, please email Julia Wellner to be paired with another participant.
Travel
Air
The University of Houston is just a couple miles from downtown Houston and is served by two major airports: George Bush (IAH) and Hobby (HOU). Book flights to either of these airports. We suggest arriving in Houston on the afternoon or evening of November 6th and staying until the morning of the 9th. Any return flights on the 8th should be booked for departures after 7:00 pm.
Ground
Economical transportation from the airports to the University and back are available from SuperShuttle; book online in advance. Taxis are also available but will be fairly costly, at least $55 from Bush to UH. Finally, municipal bus service is available from the airports to downtown.
