Support the Titan Activities Complex
One School, One Team. Impacting Our Students
Mission of the project
Norris School District 160 is more than just a place of learning—it's a hub of community, spirit, and pride. Our students, families, and local community members gather here to celebrate achievements, enjoy athletic events, and create lifelong memories.
Project Overview
Norris Educational Foundation in conjunction with Norris School District 160 has kicked off a campaign to raise $1.5 million to equip our new baseball field and four tennis courts with the best amenities and equipment available. The Titan Activities Complex, a state-of-the-art facility will enhance the athletic experience for our students and the entire community. The facilities are projected to be ready for use by Spring 2025. This initiative will not only serve our student athletes but also provide a valuable resource for the entire community.
The new baseball field and tennis courts will be pivotal in bringing our student-athletes back to campus, thereby ensuring their safety and convenience. Currently, our teams are required to travel to Hickman or Lincoln for their games, which has posed safety concerns and logistical challenges. This travel distance has also hindered our ability to host home games, limiting community engagement and support.
Why now?
Both our baseball and tennis teams enjoyed considerable success last year and have shown tremendous growth. With these new facilities, we anticipate even greater achievements and increased participation from our students. By providing a dedicated space for practice and competition, we will be fostering a stronger sense of school spirit and community pride.
Currently, Norris students who participate in tennis and baseball must travel off-campus for practices and home events. This situation not only compromises the safety of our students but also takes away valuable instructional time. Approximately 80 student-athletes travel off-site for practices and competitions. In our “One School, One Team” campaign, new on-campus facilities for our Girls' tennis and varsity baseball players will give back substantial instructional time, enhancing their overall student experience. These facilities are not just recreational spaces but vital for fostering physical health, teamwork, and school spirit among students.
Now is the time as the district is in an excellent financial position with the ability to enter a 7-year lease purchase with no additional taxes from local taxpayers. This is made possible through the district’s strong financial practices and saving enough money to pay off the Middle School bond and using surplus dollars to pay down the Intermediate School bond.
Why Your Support Matters
Safety First: High-quality materials mean safer playing surfaces for our athletes, reducing the risk of injury.
Enhanced Experience: Improved amenities will elevate the experience for both players and spectators, fostering a stronger community bond.
Long-Term Impact: Your donation helps build facilities that will benefit generations of students, ensuring that Norris School District 160 remains a cornerstone of excellence.
How You Can Help
We need you to be part of this transformative project. Your donation—no matter the size—will have a lasting impact on our school and community. Together, we can create facilities that our students and community will be proud of. We need everyone's support to raise the $1.5 million to complete this project, which will open in the Spring of 2025.
