  • Show satisfaction with artwork and desire approval from teacher and peers

  • Enjoy exploring color and color mixing

  • Students will be to identify and manipulate a variety of shapes, textures and forms in their environment

TEACHING 1ST GRADERS

  • Teach one step at a time

  • Encourage them to talk about their own work and work of others

  • Have them identify line and shape in their surroundings or on their clothing

  • Teach them how to tie knots, and do simple stitchery
